outlook.live.com quick actions moved to far right of email and I can't move them back beside Sender/From and Subject.

100%. I really don't have a clue what the hell they thought this was supposed to accomplish, and ignoring everyone's pleas to return to the old layout really pisses me and everyone else off, but they don't give a rat's rear.

There is a little graphic of the layout of the Quick Action Toolbar in the Settings page, and for a second, I thought it might be a slider wiget to allow us to move the buttons where WE wanted them. Silly me!

It looks like no one from outlook is going to address this problem, so I guess we have to try to do it ourselves. This tip at least helps me not to be erasing the wrong message (which I have done a lot since they made that idiotic change). I appreciate any help that will make using this e-mail easier-----not harder!

Thanks Rob. What you documented is what I've been doing since the change and it's about the best we can do. FWIW, I would love to know the reasoning behind the change. I was in IT before I retired and helped BETA-test a lot of software. I *know* 100% there was a reason behind the move, I'd just like to know what it was. Knowing would make me feel a little better about this whole thing, if that makes any sense. I too am really bothered by the fact there was no official reply from MS, even via one of the Moderators here, about this change. It's super disheartening because I really do love my Microsoft products and am a very long-time user from back in the 80s. MS 365 is at the core of my processes, and I've been a Outlook and Hotmail subscriber from the start (my email is @msn.com)! Do better Microsoft.

I have been an Outlook user for a long time as well, since I bought my first computer in 2001, still use my @msn.com email address as my primary address too!.

That's been the biggest head scratcher, why? As far I can tell (and all respondents to this thread seem to agree) it does the opposite of increase or improve functionality of the program, and really can't see any Pro to the change. It also doesn't seem like it would be that hard to give users the option of reverting to the old layout, and super arrogant to not respond to any of my feedback or messages, or for them to ignore this thread (thought Microsoft monitors these?)

Bingo! That's exactly what I thought as well. There are quite a few valid Cons to the change (and trust me, they knew about them), which is is the reason I'm dying of curiosity to know the reason. For sure, giving users the option to move them is do-able. So what exactly was the crucial benefit that would make the developers decide a permanent, non-changeable move was worth it in the long run? I've wracked my brain and can't think what it could be. So that leaves me with a hunch it's something that has more to do with the back-end. Or perhaps something that may be coming down the pike which is reliant on the options being on the far right. In any event, just tell us! Most folks (not unlike myself) would likely sit better with it knowing there was a legit reason for the change.
