My outlook.live.com quick actions moved to the far right of subject and received column and I can't move them back beside sender and subject. The quick actions appear on far right of email. I went to Mail - Customize actions -Quick actions. The template shows them on right but the screen narrative shows "Quick actions appear beside sender names and subject lines in your message list". Please help me get the quick actions back to between From (Sender Name) and Subject.

Using classic Outlook for Windows in business environments

I'm reaching a 'tipping point' as well. Nearly jumped to only Linux when Win 7 support ended. 10 is no improvement in my opinion, maybe worse in some ways. 11 has plenty of detractors. Since I have a very capable machine - but not Win 11 capable - it's definitely going to be a Linux machine.
Our "computer guys" at my job were clinging to Windows XP as long as possible, then Windows 7, now we have Windows 10. I suppose it had its disadvantages, but I miss XP. I liked the way it looked... it seems like the icons or "buttons" used to be bigger and bolder, so you did not need to be a trained sniper to click on them quickly. One thing I noticed at my job was that I used to be able to PLACE subfolders in a folder into the order I wanted them, and they'd stay there. Say, the true historical order of job or project folders. After Windows 7, maybe you could pick either alphabetical order or else an automatic time sequence by the last time you made a tiny change or correction or added a small note to one CAD drawing. Maybe more options besides that, but anything other than simply placing them in the order you wanted and having them stay there.
Also I habitually place (AKA "want") the "My Computer" or "This PC" icon in the top left corner of the desktop, and it ALWAYS jumps to somewhere else on the desktop, every time I restart my PC. This happens both at home and at work, with Windows 10. What is the problem with designing something so it does what the customer wants it to do? Especially when they had a product that successfully did what I wanted, at one time?
I keep getting pestered to switch to Windows 11, but I'm fearful how much worse it is going to be than the **** I have now.
The way to get MS's attention is write an email to all the PC magazines and let them know MS made this change, isn't responsive, and removed getting feedback. There are probably plenty of editors at these magazines who use Outlook and sympathize and they're in a position to embarrass MS publicly. That may be the only way to get their attention at this point.
I have twice written to the so-called 'tech reporter' of the Globe and Mail here in Canada: crickets. Tech magazines are not my thing, but if someone can suggest good places to write/email, I'd be happy to write to them about this problem - and hopefully others will too.

This is a core issue of the entire Microsoft world. Newly-hired idiots are apparently attempting to justify their existence by "fixing" or "enhancing" things.
Microsoft is doomed to lose their office dominance, and they DESERVE it.
