Access Denied in New Outlook

Fixed in no time? One year later.... Suddenly access denied while i am forced in using the 'new' outlook. The old one just worked. I didn't ask for this one nor did i ever mentioned i needed another one.

Since Microsoft is blocking the access to the old Outlook, will they pay the losses i have because they force me to only be able to use this 'new' Outlook whilst it doesn't work???

I really had it with this, this is the final straw... The dozens of problems i had since they forced this on customers and not one is resolved, even after sending the feedback multiple times.

I am using the New Outlook and when I log in and click on a message and try to view it, I get an access denied message. Yesterday, I was told that I had to log in but I wasn't given that option. Today, I just get an access denied message with no log in recommendation.

I am an Office 365 Home subscriber, using Windows 10. I can get my Outlook messages by loading Outlook through Office 265.

I found this text on another Microsoft Community website. It is the (only??) certainly working solution to the "ACCESS DENIED" problem - Andrew Campbell (Independent Advisor) 14 Mar 2024:

"Unfortunately this is a recurring issue with the New Outlook. From what I gather, the best way to get round this is simply reverting back to Old Outlook.

While I understand this may be an annoyance, it will ensure that you can access your account and functionality in the meantime."

It's very easy to do - turn the slider in the upper right corner off and you're in Old Outlook (See SCREENSHOT)

I have read, that New Outlook would replace the Old Outlook of Windows 10/11 in late 2024.

For example in Dec 2023, New Outlook has been reported to still be in Beta version.

i have exactly the same issue and it starts to anoy me. i do not find the pst file, i do have the inbox fixer tool but i do not find te pst file...

The Access Denied issue with Outlook for Windows has nothing necessarily to do with pst files or with Office Outlook 2016, 2021, etc.

Evidence for this is that I get Access Denied erratically on a laptop that has never had Office Outlook on it, always instead using just Outlook webmail on this computer, until I sadly downloaded Outlook for Windows. Office Outlook on my desktop is POP, which has no effects on the laptop experience, no syncing, etc.

If the point elsewhere is correct about the origin of these problems being Edge and progressive web pages, then where does that leave Firefox and other browser users? We have to launch Edge to get email correctly? Huh?

It does look like some top Microsoft engineers made claims that something could be done along the lines of New Outlook in a reasonable time, but charitably put a lot of things have not worked out as promised and hoped, creating a pretty big stink. It all feels much like Windows in the 1990's.
