Access Denied in New Outlook

In the past I was internal beta-tester for Windows 7 with Microsoft Italia, and I successfully reported some bugs involving Settings crashes and more, fixed before the final public release. Everything was coordinated and overseen directly by a Microsoft Windows manager for a small team of selected advanced users. We were also invited, at the end of beta-testing, to visit Milano's Microsoft campus... It was an interesting experience.

Unfortunately I must say today I see much less attention to meaningful and techy bug-reports and a lot of efforts in the UI area, icons, and the look in general of the OS...

The ACCESS DENIED issue I was talking about is reproducible on laptops set to S3 sleep mode + hibernation (not using hybrid sleep or hybrid sleep 2.0 AKA Modern Standby, with Fast Boot disabled), leaving Outlook (New) running in background launched iconified in the tray (Hide When Minimized option selected from the tray icon).

On resume after sleep or hibernation 4/5 times if you re-open Outlook (New) you'll find the program "stuck" (won't collect mails anymore, but everything works fine and the app is not freezed) with ACCESS DENIED error as in the pic above:

This has been reproduced and confirmed at least by 7 collegues/friends. I hope I've satisfied your curiosity.

That's because you don't use Sleep and/or Hibernation and WiFi connection (which can take a pair of secs to reconnect after you turned PC on). If you have cabled network only and/or you just Shutdown and (Re)boot Windows every time to turn your PC on/off, you won't see the bug. Try from a laptop with WiFi in your network and you'll see...

For a few months, I have worked as a tester for Microsoft, the NEW Outlook development and support team – helped them fix errors and have clarified a lot, e.g. ACCESS DENIED error which is usually accompanied by a repetitive / pointless SIGN IN request.
