I have enabled desktop notifications in the New Outlook app. But once I close the app, I don't receive notifications from the app. I have also enabled desktop notifications in the windows settings too. When I open the app, I get notifications of new emails being sent but once I close the app, I don't receive notifications anymore. It is extremely annoying and I have faced this same issue on another device with the same 'New Outlook'. I have faced this for a long time.
I use a Surface Laptop Go with 8GB RAM and
a 10th gen Intel Core i5 with 256 GB storage.
This laptop runs Windows 11 Pro.It was upgarded for Windows 10 Pro recently.

Hi Major Buzz,
Not used myself yet but google calendar has the ability to give notifications on phone, pc or by email, for one time or all day events with sound and even vibration on phone. Standard app is free to use With a Gmail account.
Reviews I've seen give 4.8 out of 5 so it sounds a better choice than the 'broken' outlook affair.
Hi Philip. By chance, since the forced Outlook is severely flawed, can you recommend a free, easy to use calendar that is compatible with either Windows 10 or 11 ... that will give you desktop notifications?

Agree entirely, really sick and tired of Microsoft's arrogance, not only do they replace a perfectly working mail app (windows mail) with this inept attempt but then they try to justify it by pointing out it works better with the (microsoft of course) relevant associated apps.
Well it must have slipped their mind that users that have no need of 365 do not appreciate the forced replacement of an app that is more than adequate for the majority and more importantly works flawlessly.
Leaving disgruntled users looking for alternatives of which gladly there are many which are not only free but ad free and work
Hi Kevin. I guess this is another example of Microsoft's lack of concern for an important app within windows .... OK, it's broken. Let's move on to something else attitude. BTW, for me anyway, Outlook.com doesn't work any better. I realize they are tied together.
