Not receiving desktop notifications in 'New Outlook'

Hi Kevin. I've appointed myself moderator of this post since I don't see any official ones from Microsoft. I've been using Microsoft (Windows and office) and various online app **** for years, since 1998 SE of Windows.

To me, it's just a sad story because you never know what you're getting. Some versions are good, some stink. Take your chance, or make the change. At 70, I'm too old to start fresh with something else. :)

Thanks Dean for your thoughts. I'm with you all the way. For me though, I've been using Hotmail/Outlook.com for years and the reminders worked without that application now residing on my desktop as well. Anyway, last year the reminders stopped from the website. Life goes on right?

So all of a sudden a year or so ago I find the same app on my PC. I reset the few reminder days I require and it works like a charm. I could ALMOST kiss Microsoft for doing something right. Well, of course, come to find out, that only lasted a few months, and then no reminders again.
I so wish I could ring the peoples necks at Microsoft that are SUPPOSED to fix things instead of looking the other way. Best to ya my unknown friend. :)

It's not that the Microsoft employees don't care as I'm sure most of them do but the bureaucracy at a company that large must be staggering. You wonder how they get anything done.

Something needs to be done when functionality as critical as notifications in a communications application does not work for longer than a year. The conclusion I came to is that something is seriously broken in the Microsoft work environment. Satya Nadella are you listening?

Hi Major Buzz. In all fairness too i was searching for answers and i get wound up when so many people just copy and paste other peoples answers when the original answer was wrong. I visited so many forums today and they were all just pasting Davids reply.

I must admit i was a bit abrupt and if he reads this then i oppologise to him. It frustrates me when Microsoft do stupid updates like getting rid of Windows Mail which happened today for me.. I wasn't very keen on using my own Outlook within my copy of Office 2019. I'm not getting any notifacations with this new Outlook even though everything is set correctly within my Windows settings. Also we cannot rename our "Inbox" when we add it to our favourites. But i guess your right about Microsoft and their brilliant moves. :-) Thanks anyway. Good luck always. 👍👍

Hi Dean. In David's defense, I think Microsoft's current second email app (formerly Hotmail then Live) should have had a different name, rather than Outlook. It is rather confusing to have two different email app's with the same. Another brilliant move by Microsoft.
