Not receiving desktop notifications in 'New Outlook'

I have enabled desktop notifications in the New Outlook app. But once I close the app, I don't receive notifications from the app. I have also enabled desktop notifications in the windows settings too. When I open the app, I get notifications of new emails being sent but once I close the app, I don't receive notifications anymore. It is extremely annoying and I have faced this same issue on another device with the same 'New Outlook'. I have faced this for a long time.

I use a Surface Laptop Go with 8GB RAM and
a 10th gen Intel Core i5 with 256 GB storage.
This laptop runs Windows 11 Pro.It was upgarded for Windows 10 Pro recently.

Hi Raines. It's never too late to write as far as I'm concerned. I first looked at your snippet for the new Outlook on my Win 10 PC. On the drop-down, I had chosen desktop, where you had circled reminder. I changed it. Everything else was the same.

On their website I don't have some of the settings you have, which would be ... "send notifications when Outlook is closed".

Anyway, this morning I happened to have an event planned. Unfortunately as JohnnyGui and you both said ... nothing works. 😕

Thing is, both of them used to work, then I got a Windows Update that I believe fried them. There are several forums where people are quite ticked off, and I've written Microsoft twice in two different ways. Their mind is all about Windows 11 and how much AI they can shove in there. The last thing they are concerned about is something not working, even if many people depend on it. What can you do?

Yes, too many things wrong with this new outlook. Hopefully they see the light and put the most popular functionality back in, including not complicating the notification settings. Microsoft isn't listening at this point.

I have triple checked all these settings as well as the Windows general settings for alerts, disabling Focus, do not disturb etc., and enabled Outlook to always run in the background.

    Nothing worked

Ah, the New Outlook is a major downgrade and a pain, isn't it.

I had the same thing. My Calendar reminders were already turned on as well. However, if you expand it, I found that mine was set to "None". So I selected Reminder, circled in red on the attached picture and now they are popping up on my Desktop.

I know this is an old thread, but may help others looking. Also, this is in regard to Calendar notifications
