Agree entirely with your comments, Microsoft have really shown their arrogance with this pathetic replacement to Windows Mail that no-one asked for , no-one needed, no-one wanted but Microsoft thought 'hey we can add adverts and make money if we force users to use our 'new' outlook.'
Windows Mail works flawlessly and has all the working process's that this 'new' Outlook cannot achieve, Trying to customise 'new' outlook is a ridiculous mess that only allows Microsoft selected pictures, not being allowed to choose backgrounds from your own selections make the very term 'customise' a farce. The excuse that it is a 'work in progress' does not show any concern for Microsoft's users.
When I tried 'new' Outlook it corrupted all my contacts when transferring them, meaning a manual input , so lame. Windows Mail seamless transfer of contacts.
No notifications on new mail, which looking at forums on the subject is a total disaster. Windows Mail has always given notifications of new mail and the 'hide when minimised' so-called 'fix' is laughable.
Definition of Spam - Spam is any kind of unwanted, unsolicited digital communication that gets sent out in bulk.unsolicited unwanted usually commercial digital messages (such as emails, text messages, or Internet postings) sent to a large number of recipients. Spamming remains economically viable because advertisers have no operating costs beyond the management of their mailing lists, servers, infrastructures, IP ranges, and domain names, and it is difficult to hold senders accountable for their mass mailings. The costs, such as lost productivity and fraud, are borne by the public and by internet server providers, which have added extra capacity to cope with the volume. Spamming has been the subject of legislation in many jurisdictions.
Microsoft then 'force' this spam onto its users unless you pay to have it blocked, arrogant and greedy.
Why after so much feedback asking for Windows Mail to be at the very least continued for users who do not want, need or use 365 do Microsoft continue to ignore it's user base - simple answer is they just do not care as we, in their opinion, do not know what we are talking about.
Well the third-party mail apps are finally coming of age as Microsoft's 'new' outlook hits the trash bin.
