When your in an email, there are usually up and down arrows top right on the page, allowing me to scroll to the next/previous email...

They aren't there today, is this a glitch or have Microsoft once again updated the look of Outlook and removed a REALLY useful feature???

Is it a coincidence that the arrows disappeared at the same time ads started appearing in the Inbox?

    Hi all,

I am starting to see the arrows back on my MSN account only so far. They only show up if I have the Reading Pane disabled and when I click on an email. The previous and next arrows are showing on the subject line and in the message toolbar. Hopefully the change goes out soon to the rest of our accounts.

I agree the arrows do disappear at times, and the Always use Outlook service for images is safer. I am able to get the arrows back for a long session by setting back to Do not use Outlook and saving; then reset back to Always use Outlook and saving again. I know this is a temporary fix until Microsoft updates. I am wondering if Microsoft is insisting users of Outlook must install Office to get it all Outlook options? Is there a free version of Office?

I have discovered the solution for the missing arrows. You need to access the settings in Outlook Live. Select show all Outlook settings at the bottom. Select General setting then Privacy and data option. Look for External Images section and select Don't use Outlook service to load images. Once selected the previous and next arrows reappear when going back to your list of emails. The next test is to see if the arrows disappear again when selecting Always use Outlook service to load images. I hope this discovery helps

Weird. Changing that setting worked for me for a bit, but then stopped working on subsequent loading of the page. It's probably smart for privacy/security reasons to leave it using the Outlook service to load images, though. Microsoft just needs to fix this directly.
