Infinite Scroll seems to be the main problem.
It makes reaching the oldest emails so much harder.
Previously we could go straight to a 2008 email on (say) page 28 or 2005 on page 33.
Why MS refused to keep Pages as an option is a mystery ?
(I never want I.S. anywhere - ever)
So without proper warning - i.e. with a date - or "consequences" made clear....
....Users have been forced into a rapid "search & destroy" of old emails.
So "wanted" emails have been deleted along with the unwanted.
If "Help" on search and delete is available from MS, I haven't found it.
Until yesterday - when my email was blocked - there was no obvious way to search for Attachments - by size.
Even when I found "Manage Storage", there was no obvious way to sort Attachments by Date.
(Just spotted a "Received" (Date) toggle. It doesn't work !)
Worst, it is impossible to remove Attachments - and keep the email.
Attachments are (or could be) saved on the PC.
( I found a work-around: "Forward" the email with Attachment. Remove Attachment. Save in Drafts.)
Away from "Manage storage", searching by Date is cumbersome.
It is not possible to type an old year (e.g. 2007). One has to go back through every month. Tedious !
Having extracted (say) 900 old emails from a Sender, selecting out a handful to keep is cumbersome.
On one occasion I found that the un-checked emails higher up the list became checked again.
Today I found nearly 1,000 emails deleted yesterday back in Inbox.
In summary:
- Proper Notice (date) - with description of consequences.
- Pages to ease "Manage Storage"
- Ability to remove and save Attachments.
- Detailed Help around "Manage Storage" - with clear signposting.
- Make Navigation clearer by restoring borders, colour, shading to distinguish active from passive - and multi-colour icons.
