Outlook saying I need more storage.

That warning seems to be for OneDrive storage. I don't store/sync anything to OneDrive so I can't help much. So it has become clear to me now that our mailbox mail attachments count towards OneDrive storage limit (5 GB). You don't have to store anything in your OneDrive storage to use up the 5 GB limit. If you have 5.1 GB total mail attachments in your mailbox, that counts toward your OneDrive 5 GB limit. Your mailbox may still be under the limit (15 GB) but OneDrive is OVER the limit because of mail attachments. It will trigger the warning and may stop you from sending/receiving email until you delete them to make some room or subscribe to their service. Money grabbing scheme if you ask me.

Microsoft greedy, wants everyone to buy 365! Just ignore it, or, use Gmail. Gmail, no scammer emails! Hotmail, never fixed it, disgusting emails, scammers! I blocked, still getting these!

I have exactly the same problem. Support asked me to delete the cache and cookies, which I tried without any success. I then got a link for more support and was directed to a site where I couldn't find out, where this support was meant to be found. I have been using this e-mail-account for almost 30 years! Does anyone have a solution for this problem? (By the way: Recently I have been receivinb enormous amounts of unfiltered, ugly spam. Is Hotmail still more or less trustworthy? I don't want to loose my correspondance, either!)

I got to a screen that said "check storage" in my Microsoft account. I tried to do it again to explain but I don't see it now, probably because my issues is solved, I hope. When I clicked "check storage" there were two options, for OUTLOOK and for ONE DRIVE (which I generally never use). I emptied ONE DRIVE folder, deleted anything that has been accidentally saved in it. I then clicked on "check storage" for OUTLOOK and it showed all my folders in my email. I noticed my SENT box was full of 7,000 messages. I deleted that, it freed up space. I then went back into my HOTMAIL screen and was able to "x" out the red header message that said storage is full. I tried many avenues mentioned on this thread. The only thing that worked was to delete the SENT messages and any other old emails I was saving and also any random items that had been saved in ONE DRIVE which I wasn't using or counting on anyway. I think I will use gmail from now on. Microsoft-greedy! Stupid-need more room, MEANS, buy 365!!!! AND-I block these stupid emails from scammers-facebook=A user just logged into your Facebook account from a new device Samsung S21. We are sending you this email to verify it's really you.==I emailed to microsoft about this, nothing to fix this!! BYE Hotmail!!!!
