Why have all of my emails suddenly disappeared from my inbox?

I've been having similar problems with Outlook emails disappearing on my Dell desktop. Today, my inbox was truncated from about 900 emails to about 500, none older than November 11 . . . almost like a random purge.

Fortunately, I can open Outlook on my laptop and all emails are there . . . maybe because it uses an older version of Outlook 16) and because it runs on POP/SMPT rather than IMAP/SMPT?

I also can retrieve emails via my Xfinity account, but again, this is an unnecessary hassle.

That's interesting, my disappearing emails were from Outlook on a Dell desktop too. I use POP3 on all email clients but Apple mail on ipad was not affected nor was gmail account so I reckon it's on Dell or MS. (Warning - off main topic!): I went through about 6 months of random crashes of Win 11 on the Dell last year which eventually stopped presumably due to some Dell or MS update but I could never establish what caused it or what fixed it.

Has anyone lost emails from a MacBook?

I’ve lost so many emails and can’t be found in any folder at all.

I know I haven’t deleted them so was hoping to retrieve them

Suddenly (this AM) my inbox is showing only messages from today and all previous message have been put in Delete Items folder. However, the the email count for my inbox is about the same as yesterday but only messages from today are visible in my inbox. What happen to cause this?

I've done all of this and they're still not appearing. They appear in the Outlook app on the phone, not in the email on the PC
