Help, All of my emails have suddenly disappeared from my inbox

It's just happened to me out of the blue, suddenly everything gone. Not in deleted folder or anywhere else. None of the suggestions work. Outlook 365 off its own bat removed all mail in inbox (downloaded from gmail). Fortunately everything's still in gmail.
This is appalling!
To everyone who has the problem, contact Microsoft support (this forum is NOT Microsoft support).

I contacted Microsoft support today. About 1½ hours with the first person having full access to my Dell desktop and gmail account. All he succeeded in doing was setting up a download of ALL my gmail emails, 3 years worth which will only download about 200 at a time, so that's still going on and will be for hours until it gets up to date and I hopefully get the missing emails back before having to delete all the rest. I just hope my .pst survives.
Then he elevated me to a tech 2 or something who downloaded and installed some ISO file. Another 1½ hours for that and guess what? When my Dell rebooted, it took a long time, went through a Dell BSOD stage, then announced it was undoing all the changes!
When I finally rebooted after 3 hours, Windows popup said the reinstal or whatever it was, was unsuccessful.
The tech then asked where I purchased my Win 11. When I said it came with my Dell desktop, he said I'd have to contact Dell to do a clean instal. Why couldn't he have said that to begin with?
Anyway, forget about wasting your time with Microsoft support. They have no fix for Outlook.
My Apple friends are laughing at me.
And to make it worse, I TOLD the first tech I could retrieve the missing emails from gmail myself. All I wanted was to fix whatever went wrong with Outlook so it didn't happen again! Oh well, only 1 more years worth of gmail left to download now.
In my case (I am the OP), the issue was with Yahoo, not Microsoft. I also tried the MS support route and they were of no help. I suggest also checking with the email provider you have connected to your Outlook account.
