Why have all of my emails suddenly disappeared from my inbox?

Not all of mine disappeared, but random ones disappeared from my outlook.office.com and the Mail app on my laptop. However, some time ago I linked all my email accounts using my Yahoo! mail app. Thankfully I did that because I can still see/access them from there. So, I definitely have not "accidentally" deleted them or have rules set up to move/delete them.

This is such a hassle because, of course, it's my work email this is happening to.

The same thing for me. My IT dept swears I did something but they just randomly disappear day by day. Now the entire month of October is missing. If I didn't sign into Yahoo with my work email years ago I would be screwed.

Michelle and Elijah - the linking to Yahoo is causing the problem. Yes, your emails are still in Yahoo, but there's something in the Yahoo - Outlook linking that has changed over the past few months, and since October 26, 2023 I've found a number of people having the same problem, Outlook Inbox (and sometimes Sent Items) disappearing when that account has been synced to a Yahoo account. Randomly, from most recent to older emails, poof, they're gone.

I have found a variety of similar problems with Yahoo and Outlook dating back to April 2023.

Before you break any connection to the Yahoo account, setup your Outlook to forward all email to another email address (leaving the originals in your current Outlook email, so technically a forwarded of a copy).

Don't take my work for it, talk to your IT department and or trusted IT contact first. Have them do some research on Yahoo - Outlook email integration.

Also, this odd disappearing act also coincided with users using the new Outlook app. I'm not so sure that is the cause.

I have just found that all my emails had disappeared. I switched back to the old version but had to import my pst files stored on my laptop.

I have them all back now.

File - Open & Export - Import/Export - Import from another file or program - Outlook data file - Located the file - imported without duplicates

I have the same issue. All of my current emails are gone. Outlook has been very unstable for 3 days. Any idea how to recover from this?

I think your right. My IT disconnected yahoo and my emails have stopped disappearing. The old ones didn't come back though
