Why have all of my emails suddenly disappeared from my inbox?

In my case, there was an issue with Yahoo itself. They sent out an email acknowledging it and all my emails were restored within a few days of their email.

Unfortunately, unless you have your emails somewhere else, may have lost them. If your email account is managed by your organization and or IT team, ask your IT staff if your organization has either "litigation hold" or "email archiving" enabled for your Microsoft account. If so, there's slight a chance the emails are there. However, those are paid for upgrades and most organizations do not have those features.

Also note Jennifer Whyatt's response on November 7. If you have logged in elsewhere, and the emails are still on another computer, you might be able retrieve your emails.

I think your right. My IT disconnected yahoo and my emails have stopped disappearing. The old ones didn't come back though
