Mac Outlook 16.63 signature issue

I have a customer who has been unable to set signatures in Mac Outlook since switching to the new interface. If she resets the account every time she opens Outlook the signatures re-appear. We re-installed the Office suite, and various purging of accounts and preference files have been attempted. The issue only returns.

    Same issue here.

Did some digging since I thought my IT department made a change to the configuration again. There is a default setting named DisableSignatures which should be false (0) by default. However, when I read the setting, the command indicated it wasn't set. I set the value to 0 (false) and restart outlook. The signatures feature started working again. You'll need to use the mac terminal to run the two defaults commands (no root access). Since the command runs under the current login, you'll need to run it for each login if you have a shared login system. Appears to be broken in this version 16.63 which I upgraded to on Friday.

Interesting side effect, I pushed the add button a number of times in the dialog. Once I enable signatures again, it appears it was tracking me all along so now I have a ton of the Untitled Signatures setup.

Commands and output. Note there is no output for the write version.

    // Reading the value
    defaults read com.microsoft.Outlook DisableSignatures

    2022-07-18 09:42:48.322 defaults[20309:460217]

The domain/default pair of (/Users/[username]/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Outlook/Data/Library/Preferences/com.microsoft.Outlook, DisableSignatures) does not exist

// Change the value to false
    defaults write com.microsoft.Outlook DisableSignatures 0

I'm having the same issue. I recently updated the MAC version of Outlook to V 16.63. It wiped out all of my signatures and won't let me re-add them.

I switched back to legacy outlook and then back to new outlook and still have the problem. When I click on the + to add a new signature, nothing happens. The "Edit" Button is grayed out so I can't add my signatures back in for any of my accounts. Frustrating!!

    Dear MntbighkerMM,

    Good day!

Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

I understand that you are having a concern with the outlook for Mac signature.

From your description, the signature re-appears after a reset, so I understand that after some time the signature disappears. Please correct me if that is not the case. Also please confirm that the user is following the steps in this article for signature Create and insert a signature in Outlook for Mac (microsoft.com)

So assuming that the signature disappears after some time, here is what we can test.

1- switch back the legacy outlook to see if you face the same situation from there.

2- Create a new outlook profile from the New Outlook for Mac interface and double check if the issue reproduced.

3- if the situation if persists, I would suggest you to revert to an earlier outlook for Mac version.

Select the version from the update packages Update history for Office for Mac - Office release notes | Microsoft Docs

Feel free to let me know how it goes.

We look forward to your response for further assistance. Thanks for your cooperation.

    Sincerely.
