Spam emails with no sender address

I use a hotmail email address and I've been getting multiple spam emails a day and they don't have sender addresses. If I try to reply to them, Outlook would tell me the recipient cannot be empty. I also cannot block them since there's no sender addresses to block.

This is getting extremely irritating.

That's a lot of work. I'm working on a macro that auto-deletes anything with an empty address, as well as ones with some choice words in the subject. My problem with it, at the moment, is that it won't run against things ALREADY in the inbox. Hope to get it done soon and can post it. Of course, macros are dangerous, if you don.t know the author or how to install them.

I can't find that menu (that lets me specify "blank sender") in Outlook 365, nor is it an option in "manage rules". Where did you find it?

Use a web browser to sign in to your mailbox. The address is either outlook.live.com (for free hotmail/outlook users) or outlook.office.com (for school/business or 365 hosted users).

Doesn't this mean "Delete all messages except for those with blank sender address" ? [Dangerous]

Wrong. The rule Deletes ALL messages EXCEPT the ones with @ sign in the address. All email address that has @ sign will be untouched.

Tell us, when was the last time you found a legitimate email address that does not contain @ sign?

Now I understand why my many ignore the suggestion. They don't understand email technology.

    UPDATE: 9/6/2023

This is working at least it's dumping them into the junk mail folder and I can delete or add them to the safe sender list.

i've had the same problem and I have several email accounts so it is annoying.

I'm not a techie so please excuse my lack of knowlege.

SO today I tried changing junk mail options settings for each email account

I selected safe senders mode only
(this will probably auto send everything to junk mail and I'll have to individually

add the safe senders to my safe list)

Also you can choose the international tab in junk mail options
and choose which contries are not allowed to send email or junk to you as well as some country specific encoding.

I'll write back to you all if it works or not.

    Cheers!
