Outlook.com "Sync Email" settings - "Unable to load these settings. Please try again later."

I am using the free version of Outlook.com and followed the forums and help how to set up a GMail sync to Outlook.com.

However since two days I got this clicking on the "Sync Email" menu.

Even the X button on the upper right corner does not operates when being in this menu.

I tried this menu in browsers like Edge, Internet Explorer, Chrome, Opera.

All the same results.

Questions:

  1. can I use Gmail sync using free version of Outlook.com?
  2. do you know this

    And now my sync email setting is loading again! It looks like you were right with your new primary email alias idea.

    I can get to the Sync email settings as of today.

    I have not made a primary alias change recently.

    I've been able to access the Sync Email settings today for the first time in months. As I've already cancelled my 365 account and migrated to Gmail, I just wanted to delete the connected accounts to stop the daily error messages from Outlook.

    Once I deleted the accounts, the option to retrieve email in the same way from other accounts was gone too so I'm guessing that Outlook is removing that option. I haven't experimented with Aliases as I've moved on. Just happy that I can finally do the housekeeping on my Outlook account.

    Syn Email is finally working.

    Eventually!

    It was a sinch deleting the Connected account and setting the FROM ADDRESS.

    Outlook.com Synch emails:

    The sync panel seems to be working for some users now.

    It is not yet working for me but maybe it is some kind of rollout since sevral posters have reported it is back on-line

    I have just received one of those alerts warning that one of my accounts cannot be reached but of course I can not correct that now.

    To answer one question posted here: Microsoft have signalled that no new accounts can be added to the sync facility even when the sync pane is retored.
