Outlook.com "Sync Email" settings - "Unable to load these settings. Please try again later."

I am using the free version of Outlook.com and followed the forums and help how to set up a GMail sync to Outlook.com.

However since two days I got this clicking on the "Sync Email" menu.

Even the X button on the upper right corner does not operates when being in this menu.

I tried this menu in browsers like Edge, Internet Explorer, Chrome, Opera.

All the same results.

Questions:

  1. can I use Gmail sync using free version of Outlook.com?
  2. do you know this

    I am having the same issue with the "Unable to load these settings. Please try again later." under the Sync Email settings. So I followed the instructions above, eventually just decided to sign up for the Microsoft 365 Subscription, and yet I continue to get this error message and cannot sync one of my Gmail accounts.

    I am continually getting emails every day that tell me I need to "Update the credentials" for that Gmail mailbox, and yet there is no way to do so because the Sync Email settings do not work.

    Also, the link Add your other email accounts to Outlook.com (microsoft.com) **** is extremely unhelpful and useless because it directs you to a separate page that has limited information and where you are then directed to "Add Account", which just takes you back to your main Outlook mailbox and nothing else.

    Ive been on paid 365 forever…and i have this problem and get the daily mails and the cant load settings message. I don’t think the paid vs not version matters.

    The issue is still on-going on. Receiving everyday an email from Microsoft to do the settings. But since weeks the settings displays " Unable to load these settings. Please try again later".

    Hi,

    I have a second email connected to my hotmail account, but recently I have not been receiving the emails from the other account. I have been trying to check my sync settings, but I keep getting the unable to load these settings. It has been like this for at least a week and would like some support as the connected email is a business email. Thanks!

    This is now working for me again, after weeks. Email sync settings load, and I can change the default "from" address easily.
