Outlook.com "Sync Email" settings - "Unable to load these settings. Please try again later."

I am using the free version of Outlook.com and followed the forums and help how to set up a GMail sync to Outlook.com.

However since two days I got this clicking on the "Sync Email" menu.

Even the X button on the upper right corner does not operates when being in this menu.

I tried this menu in browsers like Edge, Internet Explorer, Chrome, Opera.

All the same results.

Questions:

  1. can I use Gmail sync using free version of Outlook.com?
  2. do you know this

    There appears to be server maintenance affecting the access to Sync email.

    Until that setting page is accessible again, manually select which alias address to use for sending by clicking on From and selecting an address.

    I'm aware of that, but its great to hear that the issue is server maintenance and not that the section has been depricated along with 'Connected account'.

    I was worried that it was deprecated too because I do not have the ability to update the password of a connected account. So, I receive a daily email informing me to update my credentials.

    And it’s not just I can’t select account I want to send it from when using iPhone or desktop app, but the problem that default outlook.com email address stopped working and does not accept email.

    Same issue here, very annoying. Is there a workaround to set POP to open?
