I am using the free version of Outlook.com and followed the forums and help how to set up a GMail sync to Outlook.com.

However since two days I got this clicking on the "Sync Email" menu.

Even the X button on the upper right corner does not operates when being in this menu.

I tried this menu in browsers like Edge, Internet Explorer, Chrome, Opera.

All the same results.

Questions:

  1. can I use Gmail sync using free version of Outlook.com?
  2. do you know this

I still can't believe it after months of frustration.

I was trying to recover access to an email address that was very important to me.

I did not do anything differently at my end.

I hope that you can get yours working.

The good news: the "sync email" settings tab is functioning now and I was able to remove the account

The bad news: way to go Microsoft! Your fix to this problem made it so my GMail (mobile) can't access my Outlook account (with settings that haven't changed in any way since last night). Fer cryin' out loud ... are you doing this on purpose?
