Outlook.com "Sync Email" settings - "Unable to load these settings. Please try again later."

Near as I can tell the paid Microsoft 365 does NOT have the Sync option available in the online Outlook.com. In the paid Microsoft 365 you can add additional mailboxes under the Premium settings but that is different than the Sync that users have been used to for decades.

So even if you pay for it you can't delete an existing Sync email or change the password on an existing Synced email account.

As a programmer myself there is absolutely no excuse that it was not thought through enough when they did decide to depreciate one of the most useful features of Outlook.com. Displaying and updating the sync email settings from a database is such a basic thing that any 100 level intro to programming class student would be able to handle it. That Microsoft has messed it up this bad and has not fixed it shows how incredibly bad not only their programmers are but also their Outlook product manager.

135 replies and 4000+ views in a month should tell any Program Manager that you have a HUGE problem with your software.

I'm afraid I can't help. But I also have the same problem.

I changed a password on Gmail, then I started getting messages to change the settings in Outlook. However, I get the same error message when I try to access the Sync Mail and other settings.

It's great that Outlook has automatically identified the problem and is giving me instructions about how to resolve it.

But it's frustrating that I can't carry out the instructions!

Hopefully, this will get sorted soon.

Sync is NO longer available in the FREE outlook.com. You have to have Microsoft 365 to have the sync option.

As others have pointed out, the Sync Email options are not available in paid Microsoft 365 Personal/Family either.

The Sync Email options do load on business versions of Microsoft 365, however the only options they have relate to event invitations.

I think I am suffering with the same problem. I started getting duplicates of emails arriving in my outlook in recent weeks (maybe 3 times this happened), but in the last week, firstly some older "sent" items disappeared out of my sent folder. and in the last 24 hrs, older emails that were in my inbox and had been for ages (some over a year ago) have suddenly disappeared too. It is now not showing anything in my inbox since Sunday, today being Wednesday?! there were things there I still needed to action and now I have no idea where they are or how/if I can get them back.

Like everyone else, the sync email tab in outlook doesn't work - "unable to load settings, please try again later".

Are we all just shafted? This account has worked - very successfully I might add - for years without glitch, and the last month it has gone to pot totally.

Is there any solution to this saga as yet?

I've been having this problem for more than a month now. And when will Exchange get support on Outlook.com? This is all very frustrating and renders Outlook.com useless.
