Configuring preferences and options in Outlook.com
Thanks for your prompt reply.
I'm aware of that, but its great to hear that the issue is server maintenance and not that the section has been depricated along with 'Connected account'.
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
I am using the free version of Outlook.com and followed the forums and help how to set up a GMail sync to Outlook.com.
However since two days I got this clicking on the "Sync Email" menu.
Even the X button on the upper right corner does not operates when being in this menu.
I tried this menu in browsers like Edge, Internet Explorer, Chrome, Opera.
All the same results.

I am having exactly the same problem.
For the last to days, I'm experiencing the same problem. I understand you cant add a connected account anymore, but there were other features associated with this section "Sync Email" such as setting the default "FROM" email address and selecting which email address to be shown when sending emails from your primary email account in Outlook.com.
If this section "Sync Email" has been made redundant, then why hasnt it been removed or marked accordingly?
Please can sombody advise us how to set default FROM email address in Outlook.com
There are also some people complaining in other language.
Same problem for me as well.
