Configuring preferences and options in Outlook.com
I'm also having the same issue, same 500 error from the server. My paid Microsoft account is essentially useless to me until this gets fixed. Any news from Microsoft would be greatly appreciated.
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
I am using the free version of Outlook.com and followed the forums and help how to set up a GMail sync to Outlook.com.
However since two days I got this clicking on the "Sync Email" menu.
Even the X button on the upper right corner does not operates when being in this menu.
I tried this menu in browsers like Edge, Internet Explorer, Chrome, Opera.
All the same results.

Same problem but with my folders, same message about loading files. Not technically able to understand all the responses but my guess would be I started to pay for service it would go away
Same issue here. Custom GoDaddy domain and Unable to load Sync email settings.
There is a major problem with Outlook.com and emails (not Exchange, the web).
First, emails I sent out were never delivered. They appeared in the Sent folder but were not delivered to the destination.
This does now work, but the non-delivered emails were nver sent.
At the same time, I started getting the message:
Unable to load these settings. Please try again later
on the sync email page.
As mentioned here, I cannot even vlose that page. I have to navigate to a different page.
I have made NO recent changes at all.
This is a Microsoft server error.
Is it being fixed?
Why does the page: https://portal.office.com/servicestatus sya Outlook.com is working fully, when it clearly is not?
Yes, Microsoft is aware of the problem.
