I am using the free version of Outlook.com and followed the forums and help how to set up a GMail sync to Outlook.com.

However since two days I got this clicking on the "Sync Email" menu.

Even the X button on the upper right corner does not operates when being in this menu.

I tried this menu in browsers like Edge, Internet Explorer, Chrome, Opera.

All the same results.

Questions:

  1. can I use Gmail sync using free version of Outlook.com?
  2. do you know this

Simon unfortunately Microsoft's Outlook team does not care about the users. It's been years that they have continually made it worse.

Best possible solution for now might be to add a filter rule to filter those daily emails to spam at least as someone else has pointed out.

As for Microsoft ever fixing the synced emails in Outlook. I think I have a better chance at winning the lottery. And I buy a lottery ticket once a year.

I have the same issue with daily Microsoft emails asking to "Please update your credentials" for a sync'd email account that was recently upgraded to a new server by the ISP (mypostoffice.co.uk).

I cannot access the Sync Email options at outlook.com to either remove the account or sync the account as describe on the multiple posts here.

Im trying to support my 86 year old mother who in this situation, and I have to say microsoft is causing her great distress with the daily messages advising to resync an account , with microsoft having removed the tools to so so.

As a paid up microsoft 365 customer, this is a totally unacceptable situation.

    Simon Andrews

PS please note the daily email , currently being sent from Microsoft outlook, specifically advises to use the tools that are no longer working. As copied here:

The Edit Account Info option only appears to allow changes to the account aliases and sign in preferences, I don't see any option to edit sync'd email addresses.

Yes, it looks like the broken "Sync Email" options are removed on mobile phones.

I found the Sync settings on the iPhone by first going to the inbox in the Safari browser, pressing the Account (circle) icon at the top left, then pressing the Gear icon at the top right, then pressing "Account", the pressing "View Account", and finally pressing "Edit account info".

The Edit Account Info option only appears to allow changes to the account aliases and sign in preferences, I don't see any option to edit sync'd email addresses.

    Hi,

About everything what should be done or created. Microsoft do you know when getting mail from some other external account which is not in control by me anymore, that this can be seen as breaking in without approval, so that we can sue Microsoft, every privacy law is being violated, ask your legal group, they should know. We agreed in the beginning on something which was working and that is removed by you guys.

    Kind Regards,

    Michael.
