Outlook.com "Sync Email" settings - "Unable to load these settings. Please try again later."

I am using the free version of Outlook.com and followed the forums and help how to set up a GMail sync to Outlook.com.

However since two days I got this clicking on the "Sync Email" menu.

Even the X button on the upper right corner does not operates when being in this menu.

I tried this menu in browsers like Edge, Internet Explorer, Chrome, Opera.

All the same results.

Questions:

  1. can I use Gmail sync using free version of Outlook.com?
  2. do you know this

    I still can't believe it after months of frustration.

    I was trying to recover access to an email address that was very important to me.

    I did not do anything differently at my end.

    I hope that you can get yours working.

    Same problem too. Just want to remove the emails from the account now and can't even do that. So glad I moved to Google.

    I am experiencing the same problem in Outlook for web:

    The Sync email tab in the settings menu, doesn’t show information anymore. I get the following message:

    UNABLE TO LOAD THESE SETTINGS. Please try again later.
