I am using the free version of Outlook.com and followed the forums and help how to set up a GMail sync to Outlook.com.

However since two days I got this clicking on the "Sync Email" menu.

Even the X button on the upper right corner does not operates when being in this menu.

I tried this menu in browsers like Edge, Internet Explorer, Chrome, Opera.

All the same results.

Questions:

  1. can I use Gmail sync using free version of Outlook.com?
  2. do you know this

    ..

I hope that this can be resolved as I have gotten used to accessing all of my Email accounts through my Outlook Email account.

    My Regards, Chris

The connected accounts feature has been dropped.

The ability to manage connected accounts was removed.

Do not expect a fix for a feature that has been removed.

Chris, as you say, the problem is NOT on your system; its at Outlook.com

You can test your sync'd accounts, send a test email to them and see if it is retrieved by Outlook.

Pop is the only protocol that has to be turned on.

I stand corrected! It turns out I needed to create an app password. Thanks for your help here, Ron.
