My Outlook 2016 "Start Up Options menu" has no drop down submenu

I have Outlook 2016 on my home computer. Within the last few weeks, on reopening Outlook, I have received the message "Outlook closed while you had items open . Reopen these items from your last session ?".

I have tried to remove this function via File; Options; General; Start up options, but  my Start up options title does not have a drop down menu !

I have opened and reopened the Options menu, but to no avail. Nor is there an option to press on the heading "Start up options" which is located between Privacy Settings and Attachment options

I'm sure that I must have closed Outlook in the past without closing all items, but this message has only begun appearing within the last week.

Is there a fix?

    Hello Joop de Bruijne,

Just to confirm or reaffirm that on my 2016 MS Outlook I get rid of the pop-up permantly by unticking or unselecting the 'Store Outlook Settings to Cloud'.

When I do that it never comes back. If I select or tick that option it WILL come back.

This of course is NOT a fix but 'workaround' and still no fix to reinstate the drop down options for Start Up Options.

All quite strange when it's not just one year or version being affected (aside from the perpetual Outlook email client versions) and to reiterate we await some form of proper or logical response from Microsoft or better still - a fix!!!!!

I won't keep repeating myself but the end 'general' user should NOT have to fiddle with registry keys or code.

Perhaps they just want us to use MS Outlook 365!!?? Although as they are more than a wealthy company and business one would not expect such tactics..........?

Good luck and we continue to hold our breath.

    Cheers - Terry

    Teleurstellend.

Heb ik ook enkele keren gedaan. Werkte bij mij steeds een paar dagen. Hopelijk bij jou definitief.

I added the DWORD to the reg...seems to work

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Preferences

    DWORD: ReopenWindowsOption

    (set to 1)
