Are third world countries excluded from this?
We don't support that country code. Use an email instead. but i already verified with my phone in this country before

If Microsoft cannot send SMS in a particular country, the proposed solution won't work.

2023-11-26T15:53:59+00:00 Yep getting the same annoying message "We don't support that country code." I'm from Somalia it really sucks coz every time I click on Start Menu i get a notification saying, "Never Lose Access, Add a Recovery phone Number".
Why the hell do they even bother us if Microsoft doesn't accept our country code?

2023-05-27T13:09:01+00:00 I had a similar issue, trying to update the phone number, linked with my account, using Mozilla Firefox. After getting the error message, I tried updating, using Microsoft Edge, and it worked just fine.
