How to permanently show Folder pane

Suddenly today my folder pane is hidden by default. I have not changed any settings. I can go to View>Layout>Folder pane>Show and it will pop up but it will disappear if I click anywhere but the folder pane. I need to see the folder pane all the time. How can I change this? (And why did it change itself?)

I don't see that, but directly under the HOME button there is 3 lines. I clicked on it one time & it's fixed!

I have been trying to fix this for 3 days. I hope this works for you too.

Stetnie, For some reason Microsoft is pretending that this reply is to RichardCookson1's post. That is another screw up on their part. I am using Linux Mint. The toggle left pane button is not labeled. It is right under the Home menu item. It is a little square made of 3 horizontal lines. It worked for me. It brought the folder list back permanently instead of having to bring it up every time I open the email client.

Just under home, 3 horizontal bars, left of new mail.
