How to permanently show Folder pane

Suddenly today my folder pane is hidden by default. I have not changed any settings. I can go to View>Layout>Folder pane>Show and it will pop up but it will disappear if I click anywhere but the folder pane. I need to see the folder pane all the time. How can I change this? (And why did it change itself?)

    Here's the answer. Under the HOME tab, there is a button (3-lines) "Toggle Left Pane" - click on it and the folder pane will stay open.

    Click on the 3 lines top left next to new mail toggle left pane .

    Same problem here using Firefox. Yes, I have cleared cache! It's infuriating that these glitches keep happening in Outlook. Microsoft should be the one fixing these errors.
