Online Outlook email account storage limit change ?

Hello,

As from 3rd March 2023, on my 20 year old online outlook email account, I now receive need more storage messages.

It says I am using around 6GB when there is only 5Gb available.

I thought the limit was more than 5GB, I vaguely remember some indicator in the past that showed I was nowhere near the limit.

After checking the available info I find the following - *"You have 5 GB of free cloud storage with your Microsoft account shared across your files and photos in OneDrive, attachments in Outlook.com and your Microsoft 365 apps. You also get 15 GB of free Outlook.com email storage which is separate from your Microsoft cloud storage."*I do not use cloud storage just the email account admittedly with thousands of email stored. This info suggests I have a limit of 15Gb in Outlook yet when using around 6Gb it says I need more as I'm over 5Gb The message on the outlook account states this was taking place from 1st Feb 2023 as well, yet this comes up from 3rd March.

I do not know if something has changed, or is wrong, or if I have misunderstood this.

It seems to me that contacting Microsoft is almost impossible ?

Thanks. Mike. UK

I am really sorry but I can't find the app launcher in the top right.

That is because the app launcher is top left.

So all my attachments to email over many years are now counted as in OneDrive not Outlook ?

After the 'update', email attachments use both email storage and OneDrive storage.

A change to the email and OneDrive storage has been rolling out since February 1.

Changes to Microsoft 365 email features and storage - Microsoft Support

This change adds your Outlook.com attachments and inline images to the OneDrive storage.

Check your OneDrive storage and the amount of storage used by the Outlook.com attachments and inline images will show.

    Hello,

even after reading other things, there is nothing on my outlook which gives me other products.

There isn't even anything which says file at the top.

I am using Outlook on a browser, I do not know about Outlook in any other way if there other Forms of Outlook

None of this makes sense anymore I'm afraid.

    Thanks.

    Mike.

    Thank you the help.

I am sorry but I cannot find  "Other products" from the "Products and services"  on my outlook page.

I don't why but of late I have found outlook to be unintelligible,

I will give what you said a go.

I will repost if anything works out.

    Dear Mike,

Previously, I shared steps on how to check if your Outlook account storage is normal. You can simply go to OneDrive in your web browser and delete some files or directly open OneDrive and unlink your OneDrive account from your PC. This way, you won't see the OneDrive storage notification.

If you're unable to do this, please try the following steps to contact Microsoft support and ask them to remotely access your PC or check your account.

    1. Select "Other products" from the "Products and services" menu.
    2. Click on "Category" and select "Manage Account Security."
    3. Confirm your selection, then select "Chat with a support agent in your web browser.
