My Facebook was hacked and the email address changed without my consent. How do I get it back?

Did you receive an email from Facebook when your password and other information was changed?

The same thing happened to me and the problem is almost the same as yours. Through that profile, we run a page with over 40k followers. Over 10 years. Our profile also disappeared, but we received emails that someone changed the password and deleted our phone number and email address. What was important to us was that an email from FB also arrived with a new email address that had been inserted.

The first step was to report to FB that our account was hacked, where they did an identity check (we sent a photo of the ID card) and after that we accessed the account. Unfortunately, we were not able to change anything because there was a new password and a new email address on it, which is why we could not change anything. When the period that fb allowed us to access expired, we no longer had the possibility to log in, but the account became visible again.

After that, we tried everything to access the account again, but without success, until we reached a man who successfully restored our account.

From the information he requested, we gave him the full name of the profile and the email address that was inserted instead of ours, and after a day he informed us that the account could be restored.Only after that the payment was made.

My wife has had the same thing happen. The problem is that it isn't asking her to enter her email address again, so she is concerned that she is verifying the hackers identity.

My phone number isn't working,
Email has been changed – not mine, to some hotmail.com....
The only way i can find the account back is with my name at the identify page Facebook is giving me in their help center.

So i cant reset the password anywhere or anything.
I have never gotten an email that told me something was changed on my account., i just got logged off...

I have no clue what the email is that is connected to the account.

At this moment it looks like i'm someone that is trying to get onto someone else's account, depresses me because it is mine and i haven't done anything wrong.
I did get contacted by some to retrieve my account for payment, but i do not agree with this, there is a huge chance i will get scammed and, feels very wrong that i have to pay for retrieving my FREE Facebook account.

Would be the best job in the world, hack a Facebook account and then contact them for payment to help them hack their accounts back.
I just want it over with, i'm tired, depressed, and the feeling hurts not being able to do anything.
It's a disgrace Facebook is not doing anything to its user base.

I got an email from the Facebook security team at 7am.

I noticed emails around 8am informing me that someone changed my password, then my email address and finally my phone number. I also received an email which address is now set instead of mine. All those emails had an option to click if I didn't do it.

My first step to restore the account was to confirm in the email from facebook that I did not change the account information. At that point my account was no longer visible.

If you did not receive these emails from Facebook, first check carefully everything where they could have ended up, spam inbox, trash inbox,... This is very important.

After that I had to confirm my identity to Facebook's security team by sending a photo of ID. After that I got a confirmation that they accepted my proof and allowed me access to the account.

And that's where the drama started. On the account itself, my data (email address, phone number) was no longer there. There was only an email that was inserted, which I could not bypass in any way, ie. to change the password or add another email address,...It kept asking me to confirm the password that was changed by the hacker. After some time and countless attempts to do something, I was logged out of the account and could no longer access it, but now the account was visible.

After that, I I could not go to the Facebook page for upload ID to confirm my identity and access the account again.

I didn't get an answer from facebook anymore.

Then I asked a friends for help, where they directed me to a man who helped me and unlocked the account.

As far as I could understand the email address that was entered instead of mine was a disposable email address and that was the key thing to successfully recover the account.

How that man succeeded and what he did to unlock and recover my account I really don't know, here I wrote everything that happened and all the steps I took to recover my account.

I hope that what happened to me and how I solved it will be of help to someone because I understand very well how frustrating it all is.
