Keep receiving a password reset email.

Hi, 

I have been receiving an email about resetting my Microsoft password so far today i received 6 messages with the code to reset. This email has not been open in awhile, however i do have it linked to my phone for easy accessibility to emails.  How do i get the emails to stop.

    When I do receive the email with the code, which appears to be legit, I check my security settings and look at the login history. So far it's been quiet other than when I log in. I would think that trying to reset a password would trigger the 2-Factor or at least the authentication app?

    I have gotten 2 of the emails. 11 days apart, both in the 2-3 am time range. No recent log in attempts in the logs. I have it set to send a text message if my password or any securty information is changed.

    ive logged in to check like the instant i got the email. Logs only shows me logging in.

    would like microsoft to say something about what is going on.

    I would like Microsoft to show the IP address in the email being sent to our accounts so we can see what IP address sent the password reset because when looking at activity, none is shown at the time of the password reset. 

    They also need to add a verification captcha to all password resets along with a honeypot field to spot this nonsense.

    UPDATE: My fix was to create a gmail account with a complicated name that only I know. I then set this as the recovery password email address for both my primary and secondary hotmail accounts. Now when the hackers try to reset my password, they don't know how to autocomplete the recovery email address e.g., *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. So hopefully I will not get a blizzard of emails with a password reset code, and if I do, it is going to an email address that I don't regularly check so it will be less irritating. The only downside to this is that it is crucial that I do not lose the login details to this new gmail account, in case I am the one that needs to change my hotmail passwords!!!

    Great idea! I really wish 2005 me wasn't so hung up on having the same handle everywhere.

    I started getting "password reset" emails from Microsoft the past few days, that I never requested.

    I checked: 

          https://account.live.com/Activity

    and found the following attempts to do an automatic sync:

    IP: 41.97.128.173   Algeria

    IP: 13.125.210.127  Korea

    IP: 2001:ee0:4736:b9da:2eab:ff:fe17:a831   Vietnam

    IP: 47.113.121.208   China

    IP: 123.57.108.196   China

    For each of the I clicked "Secure Your Account" and got a popup saying "Thanks for telling us" from Microsoft.
