Hi,
I have been receiving an email about resetting my Microsoft password so far today i received 6 messages with the code to reset. This email has not been open in awhile, however i do have it linked to my phone for easy accessibility to emails. How do i get the emails to stop.

I am getting these several times a day - from the info iit looks like they might be coming from China, Iran and Russia.
I am quite concerned that at some point they will succeed somehow and my essentials are exposed.
I have 2FA + Authenticator App + my gmail email as backup email.
What more can I do to ensure no one can get access to my precious content?
Please lock down my account so only UK based logins are possible (i can use NordVPN to get to my fixed IP if i do need to access elsewhere)
Hello
I have had the same problem for some weeks now. Every few days maybe.
I found a solution for me thanks to another Web page and user who made a suggestion.
I use Gmail as my second account where the MS password emails go to.
I found with Gmail you can add aliases sort of. You can use the following:
If your email address is MikeSmith@gmail then you can add dots into the first part. E.g mike.smith@gmail or mi.ke.smith@gmail
You can also do mike.smith+randomword@gmail although MS doesn't accept the +as a valid email. You can actually send emails to it.
You need to make sure you go into your Gmail email > settings > all settings > accounts and import > and add the desired email address in the 'Send email as' section. Leave the Alias button ticket when adding.
I have now changed my backup email in my MS account. Just need to remember where I put the dots in case I actually need to use it!
I also have been receiving emails from Outlook/hotmail all day to my GMAIL, providing me a password reset code. I never requested a password reset, nor did I forget my password. This is the 5th reset code I've received today from Outlook.
Frustrating trying to get a hold of someone from Support team.
This is also happening to me now. It started yesterday. I get two to three emails with a password reset code. I checked my recent activity online, and I too saw the unsuccessful sync attempts from China, Russia, Malaysia, etc., although that actually happened weeks ago, whereas these emails started up yesterday.
I also see under recent activity that sometimes under Device/Platform, it shows "Windows," which I don't use, and the Browser/App says unknown. Other times it shows Mac / Chrome, which I do use. What makes me think there's nothign to worry about here is that the IP address, whether it shows Windows or Mac, is the same. The support says the password reset emails could be a glitch in the system, as the automatic sync could have to do with the global database / servers or something along those lines.
Yup since 20/05 so since 20 may they trying to log in. 15 seems that sincerely what juin they are trying even more. With the password reset emails.
Its one a day since a week almost... **** anoying. I already changed my pass word 1 year ago after i got a malware on my pc and to empty my crypto (so i changed my gmail and Hotmail password to something i never used befor what is not bad but anoying when i want to login) but that tis besides the point
Its all China thailand etc... Russia.
There must be a breach cause i mean first i was like must be those hackers again. But seems like im not the only one.
So i don't need to worry just getting sick of the emails...
