Keep receiving a password reset email.

Hi, 

I have been receiving an email about resetting my Microsoft password so far today i received 6 messages with the code to reset. This email has not been open in awhile, however i do have it linked to my phone for easy accessibility to emails.  How do i get the emails to stop.

    Those emails would be generated anytime <anyone> clicks on "Forgot Password?"

    There is no way to stop those messages since it would also prevent you from changing your password using the same option.

    What I would keep tabs on are any unexpected successful logins to your account since if you see that, means someone was successful in hacking your account.

    This is very frustrating. I am getting approx 20 emails a day with a 'did you request a password reset? Here is the code'. The account is secure but it is very annoying. :(

    Hi

    I am getting this also since reusing my xbox one they have been trying to login from china and australia, seems the same people that tried in 2014/2016/2017/2019 from the logs. I'm really not sure why but i did step up my security and used two factor as well but i got 6 reset requests in less than 30 seconds apart.

    Just for clarification - this is happening to me as well but I suspect I know the reason it happens.

    The e-mail that's being attempted to be accessed has been compromised in the past - in fact, it's probably featured in multiple data leaks; the most probable cause for multiple people having this issue within a close interval is that there has been a newer leak of old data or that new organizations got access to old leaked data and are attempting to get access to those accounts.

    It's probably going through a list of thousands if not millions of addresses, so it probably tries X ways of getting in for each address for a few days and then moves on.

    I've been receiving similar emails for the past couple of days. I've also got notifications at failed attempts by people trying to login with other accounts associated with my Hotmail account. They've been unsuccessful, but it's still a bit annoying and concerning. It is odd that other people are reporting the same, and it makes you wonder if there's been another data breach.
