Inbox Email Count in New Outlook for Mac

In the latest update of Outlook for Mac I can no longer see a count of the number of emails in my inbox.  Is there a way to get it back?

    This has been resolved. Just hover over the box and you will get a message count.

    Thank Goodness someone else finally joined the conversation that this isn't fixed for windows.

    I understand this thread specifically is about Mac but as it's the one that seems to have all the attention it seems silly to raise the windows issue elsewhere.

    I've gotten so used to judging my productivity and work schedule around how many emails I have in my inbox that this is driving me crazy but I can't switch

    Agreed, this is not a fix. This shows how many conversations I have in my Inbox - not how many emails. If I got to Outlook on the web, and go to Settings > View All Outlook Settings > General > Storage the number is much higher because it shows total emails instead of conversations.

    For example my Inbox hover shows I have 971 items. While the Storage view says I have1,371 messages.

    This isn't a fix. It's slow and clunky and not reliable. I have over 2000 items in my inbox and some other folders and it's only counting up to 1033.

    For those who haven't see the fix ...

    "Microsoft has responded (after 2½ years and 763+ complaints and requests from Mac users) with a fix for the missing Inbox Email Count in New Outlook for Mac. Some of you may have already stumbled upon it …

    If you hover your mouse over a folder name (including the inbox), it will tell you total emails in that folder.

    (Don't judge me by my inbox item count.)

    FYI: I am on a MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019), Ventura 13.4 using Outlook for Mac, v 16.73.2 (New Outlook).
