Meeting Owner - Series Deleted from my Calendar, but not Other Calendars

Hello,

I am having issues with one of the meeting invites I own. We host a full-team meeting for ~300 people on my team, and I am the Outlook owner of this meeting. Somehow, this meeting was deleted off my calendar, but not from others' calendars on my team. I got it back from my sent/deleted folders, however, now I cannot edit the invite. There are wrong dates reflected in the series and I need to either update it, or delete the series for my team altogether, but I am not able to.

With 300 on the team, I am not able to just blast out an email and tell them to disregard the other thread - it always results in confusion and frustration with that many people.

Any thoughts?

This does not work. You cannot accept an invite in Outlook if you are the organizer. I tried it.

After trawling the web, and reading all of the very unhelpful responses from Microsoft themselves I have found a work around:

    1. Get someone to forward the invite back to you.
    2. Accept the Meeting
    3. Download the meeting as ICS file to your desktop
    4. Delete the meeting from your calendar
    5. Import the meeting back into your calendar via File, Open & Export, Import/Export, Import an iCalendar (.ics) or vCalendar file (.vcs), select the file on your desktop and import.
    6. This allows the cancellation and control of the invite again.

Note, if this is a long running series, you will need to make sure you are sent the series, not the occurrence.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks for your advice which helped resolve my problem.

I just wanted to note for others who may try this solution, when I got a colleague to forward me the calander item, I was not able to Save it as an ICS file, I could only save it as a mesage (.msg).

So instead, I got the colleague to save the calander item as an ICS file in a shared drive (it could have been a thumb drive or email) and then I imported that file.

Sadly this didn't work for me. It says "as the meeting organizer you do not need to respond to this series."
