Outlook Calendar Current Time bar has disappeared

this is my view in the "Day" tab. the blue time bar has disappeared. the one that advances with the current time. 

In the week view, the blue line is there but it extends across previous days but not to the current one or future dates. 

anyone know how to fix this?

    they really screwed this up.  Who thought this is better than what they had...

    Just noticed that the Calendar in current MS Teams application, in the same MS Office 365 suite on Windows, shows this in a way I'd expect:

    vs Outlook:

    I've been working for ~9 months thinking that something small is broken on my Outlook install. To see it's a global thing, and that MS has stuck with it for all this time, is much more concerning.

    As other have already said this is terrible UI and needs to be fixed. If it's a "feature" its a terrible one - as attested by the amount of replies on this thread. I've recently come back to Outlook after about a year in Gmail and this was not a pleasant surprise in my calendar!

    At least give users an option to change how current time is displayed if you think some people prefer this view.

    We do see this now also in Semi-Annual channel Outlook 2008 (Build 13127.21216) in our corporate environment. As I can see in this thread, this must have been around in monthly channel for months now. We expected to be safe from such glitches in Semi-Annual channel, but as it seems, such issues still make it into our corporate productive environment.
    The former current time indicator was working fine. But that new black line with black bubble shows on the previous day. This is mostly useless, the only thing you see is the black dot on the current day. The line would be much more helpfull and accurate.

    Please fix this bug urgently.

    It has made me miss several meetings now...

    Also darker the past dates, on my thinkpad laptop it's not easy to see the current used gray tone as past.
