My Microsoft account is locked with Compliance Lock since for 11 days now, with no end in sight.

I get the following message when I try and log in:

Your account has been locked.

We've detected some activity that violates our Microsoft Services Agreement and have locked your account.

Unlocking your account

To unlock your account, you'll need some additional assistance. Navigate to "aka.ms/compliancelock" and we'll get you to the right place.

I have completed the Account Reinstatement form ((https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/concern/AccountReinstatement)) and got this reply:

This is an automated message to let you know we have received your inquiry regarding your Microsoft account. Your request number is xxxxxxxxx and we will get back to you as soon as we are able. Please do not submit additional requests as this will add additional volume and only slow our response.

We sincerely apologize for this delay as we know this means you may not have access to your account. We are working to resolve your case and will update you as soon as we have additional information.

All duplicate requests will be closed and responses will be sent on the original escalation.

Sincerely

Microsoft Customer Protection

I still haven't heard back. I can't access my email/contacts/calendar/OneDrive and it's very frustrating. I have important emails I cannot access. There is supposed to be contact within 24 hours – it is now 11 days!

    Regile

i have read the code of conduct and find it very frustrating that Microsoft can lock/close a paid 365 account, stopping the rightful owner from even retrieving the data and not give a reason why. I have been locked out for 2 months, on the phone 10 times and received every canned message you can imagine. If you are a microsoft agent, you will surely be able to offer you comments on this post and the almost certain inability to ever regain access to a blocked account. Interested to see what your reply will be.

Thanks for allowing me to comment.

    Hi,

Latest update. I got message from Microsoft support. They said I did some serious violation and account locked permanently.

Now, I have to ask my family member to stop using onedrive and put back on local drive. We never know when it will happen to other account.

There are no detail of the locked. I am not sure due to malware script saved inside one of the sub folder, as i work as IT security and save a lot of evidence files.

At least, any problem can be sorted out if detail provided.

if you look around on the web you will find microsoft employees discussing the topic on sites other than MS endorsed. Seems like we are all in the same boat here and even with paid accounts do not have recourse to regain access. Good luck and hope you don;t have to spend hours on the phone as I did only to never find a solution.

    Regards

You should probably call your travel agent if you use one, or call the airline for your flight information. Surely you remember what hotel you're staying at? You should call them for your hotel details as well. You'll likely just need to write everything down by hand unless you can be on the phone and use your computer at the same time.

I always knew there was a major reason I don't like technology much and did NOT like the sound of the OneDrive thing.

Everyone's problems in here just verifies to me NEVER to use it. I'll stick to my portable hard drives!

So this is the last email I've received form Microsoft:

We evaluated your appeal and verified your account was properly closed for a serious violation of the Microsoft Services Agreement https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/servicesagreement/default.aspx#3\_codeOfConduct

Pursuant to our terms, we cannot reactivate your account, nor provide details as to why it was closed.

This represents Microsoft’s final communication regarding this account.

This is ridiculous. They accuse me of a serious violation, won't tell me what it is, and then proceed to permanently lock the account. There is no recourse! I cannot at least retrieve any important emails or files from my OneDrive.

It's like being charged by the police, convicted by a judge, and going to jail without knowing the charges and not having a trial.

There must be more going on than they will say. This alterior motive sucks.

My concern is with Onedrive. You pay for 1TB, hard drives on PC start to fill up so you stop syncing some directories to save space on your PC/Laptop, MS kills your account without explanation and you lose whatever data was not sync’d thinking it was safe in the cloud - GONE

This is one of the emails I recieved from MS. When you call in to support (in another country, sounds like India) the support folks have no power, info or resolve other than telling you to fill out the forms requesting unlock. Previous MS support person (on non MS forum) says we are pretty much hooped as everything is so automated now that you just keep chasing your tail.
