My Microsoft account is locked with Compliance Lock since for 11 days now, with no end in sight.

I get the following message when I try and log in:

Your account has been locked.

We've detected some activity that violates our Microsoft Services Agreement and have locked your account.

Unlocking your account

To unlock your account, you'll need some additional assistance. Navigate to "aka.ms/compliancelock" and we'll get you to the right place.

I have completed the Account Reinstatement form ((https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/concern/AccountReinstatement)) and got this reply:

This is an automated message to let you know we have received your inquiry regarding your Microsoft account. Your request number is xxxxxxxxx and we will get back to you as soon as we are able. Please do not submit additional requests as this will add additional volume and only slow our response.

We sincerely apologize for this delay as we know this means you may not have access to your account. We are working to resolve your case and will update you as soon as we have additional information.

All duplicate requests will be closed and responses will be sent on the original escalation.

Sincerely

Microsoft Customer Protection

I still haven't heard back. I can't access my email/contacts/calendar/OneDrive and it's very frustrating. I have important emails I cannot access. There is supposed to be contact within 24 hours – it is now 11 days!

So this is the last email I've received form Microsoft:

We evaluated your appeal and verified your account was properly closed for a serious violation of the Microsoft Services Agreement https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/servicesagreement/default.aspx#3\_codeOfConduct

Pursuant to our terms, we cannot reactivate your account, nor provide details as to why it was closed.

This represents Microsoft’s final communication regarding this account.

This is ridiculous. They accuse me of a serious violation, won't tell me what it is, and then proceed to permanently lock the account. There is no recourse! I cannot at least retrieve any important emails or files from my OneDrive.

It's like being charged by the police, convicted by a judge, and going to jail without knowing the charges and not having a trial.

There must be more going on than they will say. This alterior motive sucks.

    Hi Ap2003,

You're not alone here. This seems to be a standard reply text, I got exactly the same.

I've been assisted by many support people from different product groups, but they all get the same answer from the compliance team and that is exactly the same message as in the email.

For me it's been 21 days already. I did not send, share, post or host any bad or malicious content, which are basically the rules in de Code of Conduct. I'm a paying customer of both consumer (Onedrive) and business services (MSDN subscription, Azure subscription, Skype Number, Certifications etc.) through my Microsoft Account. It's unreal how terrible this customer service is.

It's been a good lesson, though, that you cannot trust Cloud Platforms to keep your data safe. They will just lock you out of digital life and not tell you why or how to get it back.

Good luck to all in here.

    Hi.

I got the same problem and error message. I do not know what the root cause. I unable to access all Microsoft Service, Outlook, Office 365 etc for 4 days now. I logged the issue by filling the reinstatement form 4 times and no response. I chat with the support 8 times.

I paid for the service earlier of this month with family package by assuming it will help me and my family make backup files in OneDrive and especially OneDrive Vault. Sadly, I can't access it after few weeks of subscription. It is very frustrating since I trusted the service will not let me down.

There is no detail of the root cause. At least, if it come from my side without my knowledge, i can sort it and follow the TnC.

Feel regret to pay it without knowing the support is so terrible.

Even i cant logon to this forum. So, I have to create another ID just to write this issue here.
