Outlook - Android - Storage Use

Hello,

I'm not the first one I think to ask this question, but I cannot find any satisfactory answer - Is their any way to control the space  used by the Outlook Android App?

I just removed the account the App was linked to this morning : it was going up to 1.2 G - managing 01 Email account - linked to 01 cloud.

Gmail app - to which 2 Emails account (same one and one other) are linked is using Gmail for a total space of 258 MB - and access to data, including files enclosed to the email, is as fast as with outlook app.

Even if I would like to keep going using Outlook app - it seams just to be impossible to use until the question is solved.

Hope Outlook developer will one day find the way around this question - or at least to allow to switch most of the data on the SD card.

I now have a ticket open through the "contact support" in the app... but so far it's just been deleting/reinstalling account and clearing the cache - no sign that there's any recognition of the underlying problem or cause yet.  But of course... when I clear the data because it's grown too big I lose all the chat with support.... what a mad system.   That avenue of support (which you would think would be the most appropriate) cannot be transferred to the web....

My S9s have 64G too - but often the OS falls over at about 7 or 8 Gig of outlook data - but the error message is "too many files", not lack of storage.

I think we're in for a long haul on this one.....

Just a quick question - how did you put the table in?  Could you copy it or did you have to type it in cell by cell?

Just a quick question - how did you put the table in?  Could you copy it or did you have to type it in cell by cell?

Hi, Every morning I look at Settings, Storage, Other Apps and select Outlook (always top of the list). I then open an Excel spreadsheet I am keeping and type in the values - cell by cell - but it is only 4 numbers. For this Community entry, I copy the spreadsheet to MS Word and then copy and paste it here.

I have Outlook 365 on my PC so I do not lose any emails when I reset on my mobile - they are synced across machines.

At least when I delete my mobile Outlook User Storage and restart, Outlook remembers the IMAP Port settings when I re-add my account. That saves me some annoying typing - I just have to re-enter the password 3 times.

BTW I deleted and restarted this morning. Outlook now showing App size 266MB (why does this keep changing?) and User Data 111MB. Give it a few days and it will suddenly jump into the GigaByte size again.

If you ever get an intelligent response from Microsoft please post it here.

Re your last sentence -I will definitely.

Thanks for the info.  I didn't think about putting it into word first... I can't paste directly from excel.

But it clearly works from word.  Why is that??

I'm doing the same as you.  Phone on the left has the SMTP account added; phone on the right just my M$ exchange account.

Crashed the OS again overnight.  Storage ballooned to 7550Mb and cache 83.91Mb.  I wonder if I should have tried just deleting the cache... but I deleted the data to regain full control of the phone.
