Outlook - Android - Storage Use

Hello,

I'm not the first one I think to ask this question, but I cannot find any satisfactory answer - Is their any way to control the space  used by the Outlook Android App?

I just removed the account the App was linked to this morning : it was going up to 1.2 G - managing 01 Email account - linked to 01 cloud.

Gmail app - to which 2 Emails account (same one and one other) are linked is using Gmail for a total space of 258 MB - and access to data, including files enclosed to the email, is as fast as with outlook app.

Even if I would like to keep going using Outlook app - it seams just to be impossible to use until the question is solved.

Hope Outlook developer will one day find the way around this question - or at least to allow to switch most of the data on the SD card.

Hi bj_253! This is Raech, an Independent Advisor and an Outlook.com user like you. I'm happy to help!

Have you tried completely reinstalling the app? I've had a similar issue before and found that reinstalling helped reduce the storage used significantly.

    Sincerely,

    Raech

I have tried doing that multiple times, and it balloons up in size very quickly both on my tablet and my phone.  Over 5 GB used on each device.

It is INSANE that we can not select where the app data (the emails) are stored from within the Outlook App itself :-(

I will have to look at other email apps if microsoft can not resolve what is clearly an issue for many, many people.

I have the same problem. I have to re-install on my Pixel Android regularly (weekly). A real pain! Storage stays OK for a few days then suddenly blows up to 12-13GB. Re-installing does not go well either. I install as IMAP (GMX) (POP3 works but that's not what I want) and it takes about 10 tries, always saying incorrect userid or password. Eventually, it gets through.

I have been using my mobile for over a year without any issues until about a month ago. This can't be right. Is it an OUTLOOK bug? Or is it Android?

    Hi,

I've solved that by doing a long press on Outlook icon, selecting application information, then storage and finally clean up data.

WARNING: this will reset all Outlook configuration. You'll need to configure outlook again.

    Hope this helps.
