Outlook - Android - Storage Use

Hello,

I'm not the first one I think to ask this question, but I cannot find any satisfactory answer - Is their any way to control the space  used by the Outlook Android App?

I just removed the account the App was linked to this morning : it was going up to 1.2 G - managing 01 Email account - linked to 01 cloud.

Gmail app - to which 2 Emails account (same one and one other) are linked is using Gmail for a total space of 258 MB - and access to data, including files enclosed to the email, is as fast as with outlook app.

Even if I would like to keep going using Outlook app - it seams just to be impossible to use until the question is solved.

Hope Outlook developer will one day find the way around this question - or at least to allow to switch most of the data on the SD card.

The storage issue appears to have been fixed in a recent release, although there are still open issues I've documented that haven't been addressed.

What client are you using now? I'm surprised that MS development team hasn't resolved this issue yet.

I have now uninstalled Outlook 365 for Android. I found a very good free Email for Outlook in the Google Play Store. Apart from now and again an annoying advert it works very well with my IMAP account. It does not take up a lot of storage space. Problem solved as far as I am concerned.

Same problem. Outlook Android takes up too much space and cannot be transferred to SD card.

    Hi all,

After long time just reading in this thread, I finally want to contribute here as well. It's only with my experience and no solution beside wiping and reinstalling the app. I hope by keeping this thread alive and busy it gives this issue more weight and hopefully attention of capable support engineers.

I have massive issue with the phone of my wife (Pixel 3a 64GB). Without following any pattern, the outlook app eats up all the phones memory untill the system almost stalls. After a fresh install of the app it could happen in days or weeks, even made it almost 2 month recently. That made me wondering if the issue was fixed but yesterday, again my wife complained about warning messages and a stalled system.

My Pixel 2XL doesn't have this issue, although we both use pretty much the same accounts with IMAP.

Had already a lengthy contact with the support wich was friendly but at the end not helpful for my particular issue. Just told me that a solution is in progress...

Well, let's see what will happen

    Cheers
