Option-Drag to copy an event in the new Outlook for Mac?

I like the look of the new Outlook for Mac. But the functionality of the Calendar seems to have lost a lot of things compared to the old Outlook.

  • I can't Option-drag a meeting to create a copy on another day or a new time (it's a standard way of doing things on a Mac and worked in the old Outlook)
  • I can't drag an event to another calendar in the section at left to move this event to this calendar.
  • When creating a new event, there's no option to change the reminder time for the event. I have to create the event, save it, open it again, go the event options, change the reminder and I still have to click on two buttons to save the change. Way too much trouble.

Am I missing a magic option somewhere?

I'm working from home on a Mac, connected to an enterprise version of O365 at my university.

Hi Christian,

Thank you for posting your issue on Microsoft Community. There are several features that aren't yet available in the new Outlook experience and some known issues such as Mail and events can't be moved or copied between accounts. However, our product team is investigating this issue in the new Outlook for Mac. You may switch back by turning off the New Outlook switch to avoid this issue.

    I'm seriously thinking of cancelling my Office 365 account, using Office on an iMac is hard work, and Microsoft support is poor to say the least.

    I've seen this posted several times, but with my version (Outlook for Mac 16.65, Retail License 2019 (stand alone version)), this does NOT work. The menu items described for performing this do not show up in those same menus with my version, no matter what kind of calendar item one is trying to copy/paste/drag..

    I almost forgot, I'm just trying to move calendar events among days on the same calendar, often even in the same month. There is no "between accounts" or other transfers involved.

    Yes, that's right, the move/copy function appears only if it's not a Teams meeting and not a recurring meeting.
