Outlook 365 not opening in Windows 11

I noticed that Outlook did not open automatically in Windows 11 like it should when I rebooted, so I tried to start it manually. That didn't work either. Not even running "outlook /safe" worked.

Am I missing something here?

    When I try to open Outlook from the 365 left side toolbar I get various warnings, the first says:

    "Outlook cannot log you in. Verify you are connected to the network and are using the proper server and mailbox name. The Microsoft Exchange Information Service is missing required information. Modify your profile to ensure you are using the correct Microsoft Exchange Information Service."

    MIcrosoft Outlook does not appear in my Application List. I am at a loss.

    Hoping someone can help.

    make sure you put a space after "outlook" before the /. Ex: outlook /safe

    Hi Owen,

    This was advice I was given about a year ago. It works but isn't a permanent solution - mine continues to fail every 3 or 4 months, so I have to go through the process again. It's a pain in the backside and after so many posts about the problem, ever since Windows 11 was introduced, I can't understand why Microsoft haven't fixed the problem ... after all they created it!

    Anyway, rant over, here's the solution, I was given ...

    1. Open Control Panel - Programs and Features
    2. Select Microsoft Office in the application list
    3. Right click and click 'Change'
    4. Click 'Repair' then select Online Repair

    Hi Owen, I feel the same way, every time it does it I have to completely sign off when I do a screen pops up and says Outlook is trying to sign off, close anyway? I say yes. it signs off I sign in back on and it works again for whatever time if feels like it until next time which is closer together than before. good luck! I can't deal with their support; it drives me nuts so I will have to deal with the issue.

    Hi Owen,

    I am no computer wizard and have to rely on Microsoft Support. My suggestion is that you contact them and let them work their magic on your pc remotely. It has worked for me more than once with the Outlook problem you describe. My only cautionary word would be that if you have a large list of contacts, make sure that you tell them that you cannot afford to lose it!

    More than likely they will re-install the Office Suite and that will delete your contacts list unless you tell them that you don't want to lose it!
