Microsoft Account Locked (Compliance Lock)

Hi,

When logging in to any Microsoft service I receive the message:

Your account has been locked

We’ve detected some activity that violates our Microsoft Services Agreement and have locked your account.

Unlocking your account

To unlock your account, you’ll need some additional assistance. Navigate to "aka.ms/compliancelock" and we’ll get you to the right place.

When I follow the link and fill out the form I received the reply that I violated the Code of Conduct and won't be able to access the services anymore. Any charges to my linked credit card will be stopped.

It does not tell me how I violated the Code of Conduct, nor does it tell me how to reinstate my account, while the form I filled out is called "account reinstatement". It also does not tell me how to retrieve my data.

The form states: "Your account has been suspended for suspicious activity, sending unsolicited emails, or for violating of Microsoft’s Terms of Use agreement, such as hosting photos, video or other content in violation of the Code of Conduct."

I'm pretty sure though I did not send SPAM or hosted/posted/shared inappropriate content. As for suspicious activity, I'm not sure what is included here, but I'm a basic user of the services.

What I would like to know is:

  1. How did I violate the CoC? In my opinion you can't just cut people off without providing a clear argument on what happened. As far as I can tell I did not violate any of the 10 commandments listed in the CoC.
  2. This account has existed for 23 years and never before has it been reviewed for any violation (that I know of). How can you just disable it and tell me I will never be able to use it again? (without providing any reason)
  3. How will I retrieve my data and access my purchased and payed for licenses?
    • Hotmail email conversations (not a priority as I don't use it for email and my last email sent was from March).
    • Onedrive data, including pictures of the early days of my children's lives. (I pay for additional storage)
    • Access to my Azure resources, connected to my MSDN subscription.
    • My (payed) Skype-In phone number I use for my business.
    • My MCP ID and transcript. This is my professional learning transcript but also counts towards my company's Microsoft Parnter Network competencies.
    • My digitally purchased XBOX games and apps (not a priority)

I've called and chatted with support, local and world-wide, for different services, but all are receiving the same answer from the CDOC team, as can be found under ticket number ***removed for privacy***, which I find unacceptable.

It's been 14 days now... Please help!

Regards,

Reinto_123

I've been waiting 3 weeks now and no response from Microsoft besides the b.s. "oh we will have someone contact you within 24-48 hours" b.s.. I tried using the account recovery 3 times now, but each time they say they can't verify my identity. Could Microsoft employees possibly be stealing files from customer's OneDrive storages? I bet employees are stealing nudes, private images, and important documents from customers. This is extremely frustrating as I was working on a Python program, but now hours of work is locked behind Microsoft's b.s. compliance lock. I want to delete all my Microsoft accounts now, but I'm worried they will steal all my data, can they do that? Is it pointless to even try? I tried calling but every time some machine female tells me the phone systems are down... I even cancelled my OneDrive subscription for this account and they still charged me! Unbelievable. This will only push me towards using Apple products and boycotting any Microsoft product. I can't believe they are treating their customers like this. All I had wanted to do was migrate my data from this account to the new account, but now I am stuck without my data and without access to my new account.

Only nobody has nudes or violatable content to begin with, even though that is possibly what we’re accused of, even though they refuse to tell us why. I don’t think it’s as simple as “employees stealing data” but, since nobody’s allowed to use the same enail to nake a new account, so that the accounts aren’t 100% deleted, I theorize that the files are still there, only available when or if Microsoft puts on their underwear and handles things responsibly. But I don’t think any employees take data and files, in fact, I don’t think it’s employees behind the mass losses of accounts, not if they’re so nonexistent when it comes to customer service and actually helping people.

I think this forum is now all for naught. Action needs to be taken, and venting and piling our stories here isn’t gathering anyone’s attention. YouTube’s already got millions of people trying to fix it, we need a lot more than the people here to fix Microsoft.

I have been locked out of my account for well over 12 weeks. Im seeing some people with a similar issue as me. I called for weeks just to be told to do something I had already Been doing. I have got two emails from the actual team who handles it and they wont give me any information. Thats crazy that you cant tell me why my account that ive spent countless hours and money on. If someone could reply from the team to help or a customer to see what you did. This is getting me heated i just want my account back.

So I'm here to add to the number of people that have been having compliance issues with thier outlook accounts. (The message goes like

    Your account has been locked

We've detected some activity that violates our Microsoft Services Agreement and have locked your account.

    Unlocking your account

To unlock your account, you'll need some additional assistance. Navigate to "aka.ms/compliancelock" and we'll get you to the right place.

I've basically been locked out of my account since July and my account that has been locked is the account that I have used for +10 year for personal business and such.

I've gone through every possible form (3 of them really, that normal one, the ascr one and and an internal escalation one). I've even called and hit numerous dead ends.

I was told the recovery process is automated now and theres literally nothing that technical specialists can do except for running me back to the forms over and over again to reset my account.

I'm pretty disappointed at the moment at Microsoft's lack of customer service too, I've literally had 10+ case numbers as well with zero resolution.

Is there anyone out there with any sort of solution for this?

Apparently it's a high volume issue so I would imagine something is done.

I am in the same situation and always I receive the same response from Microsoft.

I am sure a bot is responding and no human is checking each locked account.

My account is locked since May 2020. And they always response the same and I am sure that I did not violate the terms and service.

I am in your same situation and had your same experience.

I only want to get my OneDrive files back again.

Someone know if my files could transfer from my locked account to a new one?
