Microsoft Account Locked (Compliance Lock)

Hi,

When logging in to any Microsoft service I receive the message:

Your account has been locked

We’ve detected some activity that violates our Microsoft Services Agreement and have locked your account.

Unlocking your account

To unlock your account, you’ll need some additional assistance. Navigate to "aka.ms/compliancelock" and we’ll get you to the right place.

When I follow the link and fill out the form I received the reply that I violated the Code of Conduct and won't be able to access the services anymore. Any charges to my linked credit card will be stopped.

It does not tell me how I violated the Code of Conduct, nor does it tell me how to reinstate my account, while the form I filled out is called "account reinstatement". It also does not tell me how to retrieve my data.

The form states: "Your account has been suspended for suspicious activity, sending unsolicited emails, or for violating of Microsoft’s Terms of Use agreement, such as hosting photos, video or other content in violation of the Code of Conduct."

I'm pretty sure though I did not send SPAM or hosted/posted/shared inappropriate content. As for suspicious activity, I'm not sure what is included here, but I'm a basic user of the services.

What I would like to know is:

  1. How did I violate the CoC? In my opinion you can't just cut people off without providing a clear argument on what happened. As far as I can tell I did not violate any of the 10 commandments listed in the CoC.
  2. This account has existed for 23 years and never before has it been reviewed for any violation (that I know of). How can you just disable it and tell me I will never be able to use it again? (without providing any reason)
  3. How will I retrieve my data and access my purchased and payed for licenses?
    • Hotmail email conversations (not a priority as I don't use it for email and my last email sent was from March).
    • Onedrive data, including pictures of the early days of my children's lives. (I pay for additional storage)
    • Access to my Azure resources, connected to my MSDN subscription.
    • My (payed) Skype-In phone number I use for my business.
    • My MCP ID and transcript. This is my professional learning transcript but also counts towards my company's Microsoft Parnter Network competencies.
    • My digitally purchased XBOX games and apps (not a priority)

I've called and chatted with support, local and world-wide, for different services, but all are receiving the same answer from the CDOC team, as can be found under ticket number ***removed for privacy***, which I find unacceptable.

It's been 14 days now... Please help!

Regards,

Reinto_123

And everyone is playing the Xbox Series X, sponsoring the Xbox Series X, exclaiming about how awesome the Xbox Series X, like it's "a masterpiece from Microsoft" because nobody with a voice has a slight f'ing clue about what Microsoft is doing with a large handful of their little itty bitty powerless users.

Three days after sending in my most recent compliance form after 8 months, still locked out for "violations" and no response from the CS androids that my account is back up or will never be back up.

When a massive YouTuber tries to get what he wants for either himself or his community, he is not alone. Therefore, he usually gets what's his. Example being when YouTube banned hundreds of people for using too many emotes, and they were banned for a whole weekend, then the actual humans on YouTube felt bad enough and were called upon enough to take action and give the accounts back. The words "I'm not gonna let them get away with this" were uttered from the YouTuber, and it actually came true.

Looks like Microsoft is getting away with this.

Sorry Smithy but I have already done this (3-4 months ago) and they did not respond.

    History:

I sent about 2 compliance forms last March (when I got locked out), both rejected with the message: "We've permanently locked you out of your account, we'll let you decide why, and the case is solved, the world is a utopia, thanks for being awesome and making the world a better place!!" I talked with an Xbox support representative later that month who was super nice, but a week+ later, she sent it to the "higher-ups" of Microsoft and they gave the exact same stupid dip**** message. But I've said this several times.

Here's the actual update on my end:

Today, I saw a reddit post where a guy filled in another compliance form after 3 months of being locked out, and without any notification, he got his account back. I decided to follow his steps and fill in the first compliance form after 8 months. I did this last Monday, and I tried getting in today, still locked out. My worst fear is that, soon, I will receive an email with the exact same message I got 8 months ago (and what others are still getting to this day) that I did violate the ToS, and absolutely no reason why. I detect favoritism, and I think that's an absolute sin.

    Sad story:

Last night, I had a dream about how I actually did get my account back. I immediately deleted my sensitive files and info from my Personal Vault (despite that it belonged there) and didn't know what to do from there because I was so surprised, yet very content and relieved. But alas, it was all a dream, and in reality, I bet my Alienware Aurora ($1900) that I still won't get my account back.

3 weeks - no reply - and then it suddenly worked again?  This is disheartening.   My account just got Compliance Locked, and it seems to be so random how to get it unlocked.  At least you give me a bit of hope, even though I can't imagine having to wait for weeks.

    Hello ,

i'm xbox and pc gamer ,  i was not able to play my games because of this issue

honestly the only way to get your account back is to fill the ticket compliance .

I have had this issue too , i've spent hours calling the support for no result ( more frustration , avoid calling them for this kind of problem they can't help you ) .

I had to wait more than 3 weeks to recover my account after filling the survey .

I did not received any confirmation from microsoft , i had to check everyday if my account was unlocked .

I hope it will never happen to me again .... only solution is beeing very very very very patient .

    kr .
