Microsoft Account Locked (Compliance Lock)

Hi,

When logging in to any Microsoft service I receive the message:

Your account has been locked

We’ve detected some activity that violates our Microsoft Services Agreement and have locked your account.

Unlocking your account

To unlock your account, you’ll need some additional assistance. Navigate to "aka.ms/compliancelock" and we’ll get you to the right place.

When I follow the link and fill out the form I received the reply that I violated the Code of Conduct and won't be able to access the services anymore. Any charges to my linked credit card will be stopped.

It does not tell me how I violated the Code of Conduct, nor does it tell me how to reinstate my account, while the form I filled out is called "account reinstatement". It also does not tell me how to retrieve my data.

The form states: "Your account has been suspended for suspicious activity, sending unsolicited emails, or for violating of Microsoft’s Terms of Use agreement, such as hosting photos, video or other content in violation of the Code of Conduct."

I'm pretty sure though I did not send SPAM or hosted/posted/shared inappropriate content. As for suspicious activity, I'm not sure what is included here, but I'm a basic user of the services.

What I would like to know is:

  1. How did I violate the CoC? In my opinion you can't just cut people off without providing a clear argument on what happened. As far as I can tell I did not violate any of the 10 commandments listed in the CoC.
  2. This account has existed for 23 years and never before has it been reviewed for any violation (that I know of). How can you just disable it and tell me I will never be able to use it again? (without providing any reason)
  3. How will I retrieve my data and access my purchased and payed for licenses?
    • Hotmail email conversations (not a priority as I don't use it for email and my last email sent was from March).
    • Onedrive data, including pictures of the early days of my children's lives. (I pay for additional storage)
    • Access to my Azure resources, connected to my MSDN subscription.
    • My (payed) Skype-In phone number I use for my business.
    • My MCP ID and transcript. This is my professional learning transcript but also counts towards my company's Microsoft Parnter Network competencies.
    • My digitally purchased XBOX games and apps (not a priority)

I've called and chatted with support, local and world-wide, for different services, but all are receiving the same answer from the CDOC team, as can be found under ticket number ***removed for privacy***, which I find unacceptable.

It's been 14 days now... Please help!

Regards,

Reinto_123

I very much encourage you all to google microsoft complaint procedure. You should find several websites with the CEOs email address. Send her an email and itll get passed to complaints team and they might help. They certanley helped me, although still no reason has been given for the lock in first place

Microsoft have locked me out my email address I've had for 12+ years. So far, I have been locked out of my Microsoft email account for 5 + months now. Whenever I log in to my Microsoft email account, I am greeted with this dialog box message whenever I attempt to log in “our account has been locked, We've detected some activity that violates our Microsoft Services Agreement and have locked your account. Unlocking your account to unlock your account, you'll need some additional assistance. Navigate to "aka.ms/compliance lock" and we'll get you to the right place”. I filled out the form with all the correct information over 5 + months ago, and I got the confirmation email on my other email that the form had been received and is being processed. It also said that I would get a reply within 24 hours with information, but I have not gotten any response so far. I've read several other community posts on here about this very issue, where people have been left without a reply and unable to access their account for months. I am scared that will happen to me too, as I have dozens of gigabytes of work files on my OneDrive, as well as all my internet accounts connected to the email address in question, leaving me unable to access said accounts permanently if I cannot get back into my Microsoft account.

I've gone through every possible form (6 or so as request by Microsoft of them really, that normal one, the ascr one and an internal escalation one). I've even called and hit numerous dead ends. I was told the recovery process is automated now and there’s literally nothing that technical specialists can do except for running me back to the forms over and over again to reset my account.  the ascr is just to recover password, not for compliance issues but Microsoft keeps telling me to keep trying the ascr form and compliance form every few days as I have done that already many times as requested by Microsoft.

I am very frustrated with the customer service offered by Microsoft because they have been extremely unhelpful in assisting me with this issue. I’ve also tried to contact Microsoft Outlook team via Facebook messenger and twitter and they say they will try to escalate the case and I will receive a response in 24 hours but nothing seems to work It’s just so ridiculous. Such a ridiculous way to treat a customer. I haven't done anything wrong with my account. If they were worried about something with my account we not email me and get me to secure it? Why jump straight to closing it for good. And having 0 communication with you customers is absolutely ridiculous.

There is literally no way to know what is going on with my account and no way to get in touch with them without it being a virtual agent which doesn't fully help as they just keep telling me to keep trying the ascr form and compliance form every few days as I have done that already many times as requested by Microsoft . This is so frustrating and disappointing on Microsoft's part. There is a serious lack of customer service, despite COVID repercussions as I have not heard from anyone in over 5 + months when the expectation set was 24 hours.  I’ve also tried posting my issue concern on the /r/Microsoft support thread but the bot only sends me an automated message telling me to submit both ascr form and compliance form….

P.S. Also, I have been looking at this issue and have seen many people having this issue too. In fact, in the Microsoft subreddit under the official support thread, many users have been posting about this and requesting help. Not only this issue is complained there, but it is being complained on the https://answers.microsoft.com/ .

Would someone help me? I’m honestly losing faith and support for Microsoft… im a nice person but since I am not getting any response or so from Microsoft, my blood is literally boiling...it’s just that it’s taken months now and other people have been having this issue too but Microsoft doesn't seem to be responding to those experiencing the issue of their Microsoft outlook/Hotmail email locked....This has been quite nerve racking and has caused several damages to my business etc... I have trusted Outlook and Microsoft with everything for the past many years.... There are MANY threads on this. Please help?

    https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/article/java-edition-moving-house

News: Mojang, makers of Minecraft, is implementing a change where all current Java Edition accounts are FORCED to be integrated with a Microsoft account, and failure to do so will mean that players will not be allowed to play Minecraft at all. Here is a direct quote:

Now just to be clear, migrating from Mojang to Microsoft accounts ismandatory*. If you don’t make the move, in several months you won’t be able to log in anymore – which means you won’t be able to play either.*

Little does Mojang know, Microsoft is currently in a vicious, tyrannical state where they are taking poor, innocent, voiceless people's accounts with reluctance to say why, shattering the lives of many, and absolutely ignoring people and avoiding the issue (there is no place on Reddit to post this issue without their stupid auto-bots or auto-mods removing it). The Java Edition of Minecraft is the one part of Mojang that is completely free of Microsoft and, unless there is a clearly extreme case, an unfair ban and termination of the accounts. And now Mojang is 100% bending the knee to these megalomaniac losers who despise people who sank thousands into their services.

I'm going to try and address this issue to either Mojang or their community of players, but I don't know if there's going to be any impact because a) I'm not sure where to talk and b) I highly doubt that Microsoft's savagery in terminating accounts is anything in their power or any of their concern. I'm confident that they'll be turning a blind eye to this as well, considering this isn't their responsibility, which pains me to say that's fair. But I'd love to see if they'd at least take notice.

Microsoft is spreading like a virus, starting with the good people using their own services, and then contaminating other massive communities like the WHOLE ENTIRE Minecraft community. It's times like these where, when everything is abhorrent, many of those crises are just ignored. And this is one of them.

Edit: There's already controversy on Reddit, and that's good. Even people who haven't lost their account are against this move on Mojang's part.

SolarEclipseReturns, this is your last chance to stop lingering on this forum and trying to manipulate people into thinking that this is what they deserve. If you actually read both the description of the forum and the comments, you would inevitably know that everyone here is innocent. Unless you are experiencing the same problem everyone on this forum has, or if this situation pertains to you, you absolutely do not belong here, and your lies and lying criticisms are not appreciated by anyone.

By the way, looking at your activity on these Microsoft forums, you've done nothing but berate, harass, and hate on all the people in nearly every forum. If this is your idea of helping people or just for fun, then you obviously have to go, because bashing people and being disrespectful is the last thing to do anywhere on the internet, let alone these forums.

I will not respond to the next slandering comment you direct at me or anyone else. The only thing I'm praying for besides my account back is you leaving with your false words tightly packed with you. If this doesn't happen, then I hope you lose your Microsoft account too, that would be a good example of karma.
