Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
Totally unintuitive - but it works... it must force the MS365 apps out of their erroneous view setting and reset it to what it should be... thanks.

All Office application display the menus, ribbons, sidebars as way too large.
It is not an issue where going to Settings->Display->Scale & Layout, setting to 100% will fix it. I already have that set. I have also toggled the 'When using multiple displays options' several times within Office applications settings.
Everything else is just great with my display. All text within the viewing panes of Office applications is fine. For instance, in Outlook, the ribbon is huge, the sidebar is huge, I can only see about 4 emails at a time listed. However, where it displays a full email on the right, that text is just fine. If I lower the zoom level it gets too small to read. Also that zoom level does not affect the size of the ribbon or side bar. Same issue in Excel. Ribbon is huge, but the cells of the spreadsheet are normal size.
The file explorer menus and ribbon also display fine. All other non-office applications display fine.
It was working fine. I must have pressed some button inadvertently which increased the size of these items. Or maybe it was because I temporarily hooked my laptop up to a different monitor.

Worked perfectly for me!!!! thank you so much!!!!!
Finally found an answer... been bugging me all day and drove me nuts...
DUDE THIS WORKS! I was going crazy!!! My outlook menu was just so massive I could hardly read my messages using PIP on an ultrawide monitor. My Icons were massive and the text wouldnt fit below them. IDK how you even knew this but it helped BIG time! Thank you!
Running Windows 11 and it works.
I found another thread with the answer right after posting this. It might have even been in here and I overlooked it. My issue was I had somehow switched to "touch" view instead of mouse. To resolve in the office app - type "touch" in the search bar, click the arrow to show the options and select "mouse" instead of touch.
I'm having the same issue, though I'm using the desktop app. I've tried every suggestion in this thread and none of them works. I had zero issues with this until last week when I started typing too soon I guess as a file was opening and all of a sudden my ribbon size was huge on all my office apps. I was using the 10-key pad so I'm presuming there was some keystroke combo that I inadvertently hit. I've tried uploading a screenshot but keep getting an error
